The game vs Jurong CSC . The game was delayed for an hour after a heavy rain. Luckily we are playing on a astro surface if not the game will be called off.
Tusser lost out 1-0 by a dubious offside goal in the last min. Almost a clean sheet , however the boys held their lines well. We played with 12 players only. Although the opponents have largely torrential poccession , they did not have any clear cut chances.
2 guys i thought particularly STOOD out today. PENG & SHERN ,these are the 2 guys whom you wont normally depend on for defensive work. Esp today both of them as the RB & LB , they tirelessly contained the opponents winger time & time again. SOmetimes even covering for the loose balls in the centre. This shows that our player sticks to their task even being played out of position.
There is no wonderful tricks or flicks from Peng today , juz solid defending !
Too bad , we are not able to try out some new players due to their NO-SHOW.
On the whole , the recent games have seen us transformed into a team with solid tight defense. We have conceded less goals & most importantly silly goals.
Next week we will meet Italia (TURF CITY PITCH 4 - 11am)who was drubbed 4-0 by BIFC. SO on paper its a game we should take easily. Once again urging players to reach on time especially Turf City.
