We are contacting you from SUPERHYPERREAL Creatives regarding a National Day 2010 Project. We were forwarded by Peh Zhenhao one of your players with regards to this project. We are working with Singapore Discovery Centre and the National Museum to create a collection of photographs of groups and communities within Singapore that form Singapore society.
The purpose is to form a document of Singaporeans in the early 21st century that will act as a resource for all Singaporeans, especially historians and artists. We are forwarding this project for consideration to use in the National Day Parade 2010.The pictures have been shown all over the world including Italy (Trieste), USA(New York), and as far as Latvia, in exhibitions and in press, including Vanity Fair Italia, and has won competitions worldwide with this series of work.
Our photographer Jing Quek is represented in New York by Josette Lata (http://josettelata.com/) shoots advertising jobs here in Singapore. Recent work includes the Singapore Sports Council Let's Play campaign plus the US Democratic Presidential Candidate John Edwards for the cover of Newsweek.
The main purpose of this work is to showcase a contemporary, authentic yet aesthetically exciting vision of Singaporean society.A few images from this series of work will also be shown at the Singapore Discovery Centre in July to coincide with National Day.There have been numerous articles written about my work all over the world (which can be viewed in my CV), and this project has won awards internationally.
One of the groups we want to focus on is soccer players. We find the amateur soccer league a vibrant scene which has now expanded to many leagues and Singapore regards soccer as a National Sport. We would love to photograph your team after a match.
The final outcome of the work is to showcase the images in a large scale exhibition coinciding with National Day 2010, and also the production of a compilation of these images into a coffeetable book.
The shoot itself will only take a few minutes as we will be ready to photograph them once the match finishes.
We have attached more pictures in the document to give you an idea of how I will portray your soccer team. Each image is very stylized and the people inside have a very strong confidence and sense of fun.
We will be glad to make prints for your players in exchange for their time.
