Rangers...I had extracted a piece of information from Al-Caliph website mentioning Tusser before both teams actually meet for the first leg.
First Meeting
Al-caliph versus 2SIR. Who is 2SIR? How will they play? How organised is the team? These were some of the questions in some of our minds before the game. We should give credit where its due. They had a organised team, their passes were simple and they let the ball do the running. From the kick off AL-caliph settled early and we were very composed. Our passes had improve. Although the game ended in a stalemate, we had the better chances but unfortunately lady luck was on their side as we failed to convert those chances into goals. The teams performance was commendable. We had our first clean sheet. Everyone was working hard from kick off to the final whistle displaying a never say die attitude and the mentality to win. Encouragement and motivation from both on and off the pitch moves us forward, even if some of us had tired legs. Fitness had also played a part in our game.We had shots from Khai, Fahmi and Roshan coming close to score and sealed the game. Well done guys.Lesson which we could learn from the game is never give up even if we are winning and work hard for the team. What they had in pace and passes we made up in terms of determination. They were tired in the last quarter of the game and if we had more time the game would be ours. We should learn to ask for the ball more often and support one another more often. Game ended 0-0
Second Meeting
Al-Caliph blew a 2-0 lead to allow the opponent to draw level 2-2 in the second half. The team couldnt match their up tempo performance from the first half and were constantly on the backfoot. The team was ravaged by injuries and absentees. The makeshift midfield was not able to dominate. The defence crumbled after constant attacks. Doc cleared the ball into his own net and was adjudged to have tripped the opponent in the penalty box which they duly converted. Game ended 2-2
