Tusser again have to scramble for manpower as the team plan has yet been interrupted by absence of key players. Weida playing in a unacustomised position in central mid ran tirelessly. Though not in the mould of Tong, he tried his best to stamp his authority. Composed even in midfield, he remains the epicenter of Tusser. Royston have to bear with the pain of a mild stomach upset to start. Tusser striking department was anonymous and have nothing to show for in attack and never really got out of first gear. Tembusu finally broke Tusser resilience and score late in the first half.
The referee I felt was flashing his card like how the Carpark attendance auntie would do !!!!
Second half, we showed more aggression and desire to level the match. The keeper managed to plunge to the right to palm off Da header off a well taken Aaron free kick.
We failed to take advantage of an indirect free kick in the penalty box. Even with almost open goals at our mercy, we can’t hit one into the net. Lanxer almost troubled the keeper with a quick free kick but the shot curled toward the side of the keeper. In harsh words, Tusser shooting was atrocious. We were spraying our shots everywhere. The only place we could not place the ball was in the net. Although racing against time, Tusser try not to adopt a direct approach by hitting long balls which the opponent is winning those Ariel ball. Our strikers only lacked the clinical finish in front of goal to add to their hardworking approach work. The time on the stopwatch just trickles away just like the GO KART in the background of the field. I just feel we might just summon the strength of any GOD to nip in one goal at least. But time does not favour us, if not we would have given ourselves a glimmer of hope to set up a mouth watering encounter in the season finale against Italia. That solitary goal really punctured the hearts of the feisty Tusser boys who have fought gallantly.
There was nothing for the Tusser boys to be embarrassed about in the performance though. There were glimpses of what we are capable of, although we need to do it more often rather than in patches. The committee has urged the team to put the disappointment behind us and look ahead with a fresh frame of mind. The pressure of survival might have tense up some of our players. Playing for pride and not to finish bottom as least, let us be drenched with the World Cup fever and finish our rollercoaster season.
