Tusser surpassed their record in the 1Nite stand Cup with a convincing 3-2 win over BIFC in a cool morning in Sentosa. Tusser have to come from behind after an early goal by BIFC. Tusser have failed to make it past the 1st round for the past 2 occasions and now awaits Orchard Rovers after they need a extra time goal to over come their opponent..
After the AGM held last week and announcement of new personnel for management team, Tusser went into the game with poor scoring record. Peng took over in absence of the skipper Da. The team was determined to give a winning start. Peng took over the centre mid role in today game. Tusser must be thinking hard how to start scoring again. And holds the unenviable record of having scored the least goals (only 2) in all the 8 Divisions.
Tusser attacked right from the start, have few chances at the BIFC goal. However against the run of play, BIFC took the lead thru an innocuous looking cross. Royston impressed on the right wing today with his tireless runs & some intrigue passing. Tusser got on level terms thru a goal by Kar Fatt as he pounced on the rebound. Tusser suffered minor setback as Shern & wan have to hobble off the pitch injured. RuPeng & Erwin have to come in for replacement & stuck to the task well.
Tusser took the lead into the early mins of the second half. Erwin getting on the end of the superb free kick from Zhenhao with his head. The BIFC keeper had no chance as it landed on the top corner. BIFC winger threatened on the wings on a few occasions but the Tusser Defense did enough to nullify it. Erwin was unlucky not to help himself to another goal when he hit the post. Rupeng made a scoring debut and scored with a wonderful shot from the edge of the box. With 3-1 up, Tusser are cruising in this tense encounter. BIFC must have thought they got the match up to their hand when they scored one goal back with 7 mins remaining. Tusser held out for a deserving win.
They will say football is something round and always so surprising. Our 2 wins this season, have come against BIFC. 1-0 & 3-2. On the hand , BIFC have manage to bulldozed past their other opponent but yet cant take points off Tusser. Call it JINX or FATE. U decide.
Peng must have uttered some magic words during the break that spurred the team for the second half. The performance of Royston & Zhenhao on the right stood out from the rest today. However Royston nicked in for the MOM as it shows that being confidence in yourself will make you enjoy and play better.
We welcome the new entrants to the team in the form of Rupeng & Erwin. Rupeng is the younger brother of TONG who occupies the centre mid role. He is in the mould of the great Tong himself. Erwin who is an Indonesian who have played a few games with the Senior. He is lacking fitness but clearly made it up with his strong physique and powerful shooting.
Lets hope the team will remian consistent for the remaining games under the new management and uphold the status of Tusser Ranger.
