Stroll In the Park

Holland Park II were the latest victims of Tusser Rangers as the table leaders since Day One of the season scored an emphatic 3-0 win to clinch the title. With 2 games to spare, Tusser has already chalked up an unassailable lead to confirm the title after this win against second placed Holland Park.
Tusser started the game with a strong team which included ex-internation Suria, plus Hao, Tong and Alvin back from exams. The game started brightly with Tusser gaining the initiative in the early minutes of the game. Clearly, with Suria's pin point crossing, Tusser's ploy was to trouble the Holland Park defence with long accurate crosses into the penalty areas. Holland Park has to sit back in numbers to deal with the deep crosses as Tusser started gaining momentum in attack. Numerous chances were created nad foiled and Tusser were unlucky to have finished the half goaless. Top scorer Kar Fatt almost increased his tally if not for the left upright to deny his curling shot from his left foot after he twisted n turned out of trouble in the box. Peng was also left gaping after he mistimed a shot as the ball rolled miserably past the goal area. It seems that the Holland Park custodian was gaining in confidence as Tusser looked clueless about the numberous missed chances. Weida had a particular header cleared off the line and substitute Alan sent in a glorious low cross only for Hao to toe poke into the arms of the keeper. Such was dominance of Tusser and they were truly unlucky to have finished the half goaless.
The second period started with captain courageous Lanxer coming on for Suria and the duo of Alan and Derrick for Peng Yeow and Kar Fatt. Alan immediately made an impact in the game as he tormented the right wing with his speed and silky runs. on the other side of the field, Jit Tong was impressing with his mazy footwork and causing the same agony to the full back.
First goal of the game came via a neat wall pass on the right flank. Alan then recieved the ball with his back on goal but somehow managed to turn and cross for Derrick to soar high and knock the ball home. With Tong tiring down the full backs fast, Alvin found more space and time to partner Tong in attack down the left flank. The Tusser leftback turned provider after he sent a delicious ball for Hao to knock his his first of two goals from close distance. Both sides were easily sapped by the scorching sun and gaps began to open up in both defences. Holland had a few decent counter attacks but paid the price for being sloppy in the final third.
Hao then pieced the final jig saw of Tusser's successful season with a mazzy drible through the centre of the HP defence before rounding the keeper for the third goal of the day. It was a class act which capped a truly magnificent season. There was little time for HP to earn a consolation goal as the game ended 3-0 to Tusser.

A very big thank you to each and every player who have contributed to the teams' success.
Special mention to the ever influencial and inspiring Lanxer for putting in extra time and effort to make sure the team click.
