Long forgotten and disregarded player, Francis, opened his scoring account today and made another to ensure Tusser Rangers of the full 3 points. On a cool and wet morning, Tusser in white were up against the Hibs in green. If the Hibs Social team were considered tall and lanky, this week's Hiberian Football club must deserve the word "GIGANTIC". Gigantic there were, as they stood heads and shoulders over the seemingly small Rangers.
It didn't take long for the Hibs to make good use of their height advantage as they snatched the lead through a header off a corner. The Hibs scorer rose unchallenged in the far post to make a perfectly weighted looping header past a hapless Wenjie.
However, the score hardly painted a correct picture of the game in terms of domination. Tusser looked well organised and were stringing passes around in fashion. Gone were the days where play was often predictable and one dimensional. This season, Tusser boasts of a team which comprises of faster, younger and more creative players.
One nil to Hibs into the break as Tusser were still trying to grapple with the robust and direct approach from the men in green.
The second period started with the Rangers switching into full gear as they went in search of the all important equaliser. With the defence looking more solid than ever coupled with Wenjie's safe pairs of hands, the whites began stirring a storm in the opponent's half.
Jit Tong was looking extremely comfortable in the centre of the park alongside Hao and the defensive duo Weida and Eugene were putting in a sterling performance.
The equaliser finally came after a break with Hao threading a DELICIOUS ball (haha guys, i must praise myself a bit, but im sure Francis will agree) into the feets of Francis, who took down with one touch and smashed in an unstoppable shot. Even 3 Van der Saars wouldn't have had a chance!!
Spirits were high and as usual Tusser were the fitter team. All the exhausted Hibs could do was to hold on to the ball and hoped for the the clock to tick faster. With the clock ticking down, Tusser began to pour forward, highly determined to collect all three points. Efforts were finally paid off when Daniel scored... yes... AGAIN!! A long throw by Wanyuan (Wan claimed to have prayed to the big tree by the side for a goal before his throw man!!! Spooky!!) was flicked on by Francis and left Daniel with an easy tap in and the victory. It seems like Daniel is starting to score for fun!!
A really hard fought game and Tusser showed great character and persistence to overturn the result despite having an uphill task. Credit to the solid defending, especially Man of the Match Eugene. Wenjie also had a commendable game as he shrugged off a disastrous mid week to keep the goal in safe hands.
AND WHO SAYS U CAN'T SCORE WHEN U ARE FAT??
Haha....
